This will be a juried Art Show; monetary awards will be given.  Award winners will be announced during Preview Night of the Arts held Septmeber 7, 2006. 

Expo New Mexico State Fair is seeking artwork created by African American Artists (NM residents, 18 years or older, and at least one quarter African American decendants) for the new African American Art Center.

The subject of this exhibit will be the personal, emotional, and spiritual expressions of each artist's experience as Americans of African decent.  The expressions will be diverse because each artist's experience in America has been different.
